HELP PLEASE! It appears I have lost my iPhoto library. One other observation is that the representaion of the useage of that 500GB drive is ALL in the colour yellow in the bar which stands for "Other" rather than "Photos". It looks like I have got to do a serious amount of house keeping to sort this all out! Or, can I be lazy and direct a new iPhoto library onto another backup drive? I know what I should do, but its just finding the time!.

I think what is happening here is that he has been trying to get me to use Aperture but knowing my hestitation to take on the grown-up world of Aperture has allowed iPhoto to duplicate into Aperture, plus the fact that all my other iPhoto photos, from a previous Mac are also on that now full drive. in "About This Mac" - "Storage" I find that I have a backup drive called Picture Storage of 500 GB which was setup by my Mac Guru and it is full with only 111Kb free.
(Early '09) which comes with 640 GB of which 511.34 Gb is free.
